Portable Lighting

Polaris is a portable lighting system designed to be easily installed on airports or heliports for emergency use in case the main system is having problems. It is also easy to make a fast installation in case of temporary airports or heliports/helipads. It can be also used as a permanent installation if the lights are charged from solar panels (solar runway lighting system). The system uses radio communication for controlling the brightness of the lights, to turn ON or OFF the lights, to check the battery status, failures of the LEDs, to measure the temperature and the environment lighting level. We also use an internal GPS for checking the real position of the lamps. Knowing this we can add the lights to a map in real-time. The lamps can be controlled individually or in groups. You can define groups according to your projects.

The portable lighting system can be integrated not just in the lights but also in the guidance systems like APAPI, PAPI, Runway Guard Lights, Runway Guidance signs, etc. The range of the radio control is up to 10 km from the omnidirectional antenna. The application can be accessed from any device like a laptop, tablet, smartphone connected to the router of the radio system.

Polaris is a very complex system where all the units (lights and guidance systems) are communicating every few seconds with the central command system.
